Randy Hayward – Superintendent
Dr. Hayward is a native of Detroit and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He received his Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Master of Education degrees from Harvard University. In 2006, Dr. Hayward received a certificate of completion from the National Institute for Urban School Leaders through Harvard’s Principal Center. Dr. Randy Hayward is Superintendent of the Marvin L. Winans Academy of Performing Arts School District which serves over 1,100 students. He works with students, staff and families to build a community of academic and performing arts excellence. He has worked at Winans’ Academy in various capacities including Dean of Students, Assistant Principal and Principal since 1998. Among his proudest accomplishments at the Academy is traveling with students to Italy where they performed at the Vatican.
Lindsberg S. Pettway II M.A. - Principal / High School
Prior to becoming the High School principal, Mr. Pettway was the Dean of Students for the Middle School at Winans Academy. He began his career at the Academy as the Health and Physical Education Teacher. He has excelled in his career during his tenure here because of his passion for and the belief in the vision of Pastor Winans in the city which he was born and raised.
Lindsberg Pettway is committed to the continual improvement of public education opportunities for all students.He holds a B.S. from Alabama State University, masters from Wayne State University and currently working on his Doctorate in Educational Administration at Central Michigan University.

Rochelle Ponder – Principal / Middle School
Principal Ponder has served the families and students of Winans Academy since the fall of 2000. A native Detroiter and graduate of Wayne State University, Principal Ponder's passion is educating our youth in the spirit of "excellence." The belief that all students are educable and self-disciplined under girds our success. Education is the vehicle that leads you down remarkable paths of life; it ascertains self-worth and equity across race, gender, and socioeconomic levels. The quote that best describes my values and how I choose to lead is by the Greek Philosopher Aristotle: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not act, but a habit."
Ms. Tomi Ingram - Principal Elemenary (Bio - update in process).
Mrs. Albert – Counselor / High School
Education: After graduating from a performing arts curriculum, Mrs. Albert majored in Speech Communications at WSU, earning a B.A. in Education. After teaching for 7years, Mrs. Albert returned to earn a M.A in Counseling.
On the job: As the counselor, Mrs. Albert ensures that each graduate meets the MMC, in addition to the Marvin L. Winans Academy requirements for graduation. Mrs. Albert developed an annual financial aid workshop for students and parents, while arranging numerous college visits for all students that result in their enrollment.
